I downloaded Field Agent because I thought it sounded like a cool idea. Ive been using it for a few months and it has been disappointing. The jobs dont pay well, sometimes it takes half an hour+ to complete jobs that are $4. They have a variety of jobs that they pay $10 for but warn that they are difficult. Unfortunately many of these jobs are virtually impossible, such as taking detailed pictures of every menu board behind the counter in McDonalds without the employees noticing. You are supposed to be incognito but you have to scroll through the app and multiple pictures to complete the job. If the pictures are too blurry you wont be paid. I think thats the biggest issue I have with this app: getting paid. It seems like a lot of these jobs are there to bring field agents into the stores as customers. If I take a picture of a menu board, I have to buy something so the profit I am making is reduced. Some "mystery shops" seem like they are just there to get you to buy product, like getting $6 for Little Caesars pizza that costs $6, plus anything extra you might need to make the dinner worthwhile for multiple people. The jobs offered are also limited at best.
Overall this app was a waste of time for me. I spent more trying to complete difficult jobs than I got paid. I can see the advantage of taking pictures with a phone, but some of the tasks just arent feasible. I have done multiple jobs over the course of four months and check the app regularly, but I have only made $13 due to my pictures being "poor quality"and the lack of jobs in my area. If youve got lots of time to kill, arent afraid of embarrassing yourself in front of employees for creeping menus in plain sight, and arent too attached to the idea of making a significant profit then this app might be fun. Any expectations higher than that could leave you disappointed.
